admin Left Berlin yesterday, super happy about our departure, can’t wait to get to Barcelona. The autobahn in these cars is comical, mainly due to the top speed of Lucy and Rob’s car which is lucky to hit 120km/h.

Within 200km of Berlin Jonathan and Susan have a blown head gasket. A number of the cast members feel that it was an avoidable mistake, and frustrations are rising. Then, within 30 kilometers from that situation, our production vehicle blew a tire. The spare was flat, but no matter as the winch to lower it off the back was rusted and inoperable.

Lovejoy and Tony went to look for help, police stopped and were not the least bit happy with the situation. In a country where it is illegal to be on the road in vehicles not fit for the autobahn, we were lucky to be told to wait for the tow truck.
Jonathan was making decisions that left something to be desired, from taking off in a car by himself to wandering off alone on foot. We are traveling as a group, and need to make decisions as a group, not based on personal will or want.
Lucy in only flip flops and the temperature close to freezing, the group had to huddle together on the side of the road, keeping warm in the cars was not allowed as the police said it was not safe to be that close to the road.
Jonathan had picked some wine at the last gas station so the gang cracked it open and made the best of a crummy situation, alleviating some of the frustration from his earlier decisions.
Ended up having a 200 euro tow to a repair store in Hof. Had to set up tents and half of the group slept in cars. Must have been close to freezing. Rob is still sick and was looking and feeling pretty bad last night. The sickness seems to come in waves, and a couple of the other members of the crew are struggling with it too.
We think we have found accommodations for the evening and I am sure the Mac Cafe (McDonalds) where we have set up camp is pleased about our departure.
